6th Ramsgate Royal Harbour Sea Scouts

The Ice House Project

The Ice House is more than just a building, it’s a vision brought to life by our Sea Scouts, volunteers, and local community. From derelict shell to vibrant community centre, the journey has been powered by kindness, determination, and belief in a better future for Ramsgate.

In true Scout fashion, we set ourselves a Personal Challenge,  a concept familiar to every Scout, where you take on something bold, ambitious, and meaningful, even when the odds are high.

Our challenge? To take an abandoned, crumbling building and transform it into a safe, inclusive, and thriving hub for local people of all ages.

We didn’t have a big budget or a big team, just a big heart, a committed crew of volunteers, and a belief that we could make it happen, step by step, brick by brick.
