We are raising funds to put toward water activity equipment. This will help us offer water activities to our Scouts and the wider community. Being active is an essential part of scouting, and we hope to share our love of adventure and outdoor activities with as many people as possible. Having the right equipment helps us to do this.
6th Ramsgate is encouraging everyone to use their social media channels to ask people to vote for them to give the charity the best possible chance of winning.
Shirley Appleby, Group Scout Leader, said: “This year has been a challenging one; our scouts have shown great spirit but have missed being on the water and outdoors camping. We hope to cheer them up by being able to order outdoor equipment ready for when we return to face to face scouting. This money will help us make a significant difference in bringing our young people and the local community back together after a tough year.”
Mark Hews, Group Chief Executive of Ecclesiastical Insurance Group, says: “We’re delighted to announce the launch of Ecclesiastical’s Movement for Good awards for the third year running. Our Movement for Good awards will continue to help charities at a time when they need it most and we know that for many charities, £1,000 can make a real difference.
“We were thrilled to receive so many nominations from the public last year and this year we are encouraging even more people to nominate a good cause. Ecclesiastical, the fourth largest corporate donor in the UK, is a unique financial services group. We are owned by a charity which means all available profits can be given to the good causes that are so important to our customers. As a company whose purpose is to contribute to the greater good of society, charitable giving is at the heart of our business.”
