In May 2016, our Scouts took part in the Thanet District Monopoly Run. The Scouts enjoyed orienteering around the Isle of Thanet using public transport to race to various checkpoints and places of interest and taking part in mini challenges. 6th Ramsgate came 15th with 890 points, but it’s the taking part that counts and great fun was had by all who attended.
On Saturday 17 December Cubs joined the rest of our Group at Marshside Camp site for a day of challenges and activities during our Christmas Camp. Mixed teams of Cubs, Beavers and Scouts took part in tent pitching, fire lighting, making a ballista, problem solving and a trek cart race. Everyone enjoyed a Christmas buffet in the main hall with log fire and a Christmas tree.
On Thursday 15 December the Cubs joined with other Cubs from Thanet District to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the start of Cub Scouting. The evening included campfire songs and culminated in the joint remaking of the Cub Promise at precisely 1916 hours.
On Monday 12 December the Cubs performed a medley of Christmas carols and songs to the residents of Brennan House Care Home. As well as the traditional carols, which the residents enjoyed joining in with, the Pack entertained their audience with two dancing elves, a Rudolph, complete with glowing nose and an action packed 12 Days of Christmas.
After the singing, Cubs were treated to a Christmas buffet provided by the staff of the home.
